7th/8th Grade Modified Baseball

Rules/Expectations

1.      We expect every player to be on time and prepared for practice everyday (This includes having long pants). We will not tolerate tardiness or missed practice. Missed practice time means missed playing time. (If a special situation arises, make arrangements with your coach ahead of time.) To be a member of the team, you must make a commitment.
2.      We expect maximum effort on the field and in the classroom.
3.      We expect disciplined behavior from all players at all times.
4.      We expect every player to put academics first, baseball second. We will be as flexible as we can to allow you to be excused from practice time so you can get extra help. This should be done from 2:35-3:15 (10th mod). It will be your responsibility to arrange this ahead of time (If coming to practice late due to getting extra help, you should have a pass from the teacher that was helping you.)
5.      We will not tolerate foul or abusive language, arguing with umpires, arguing with opposing players/fans or any behavior that is considered unsportsmanlike.
6.      Anyone who throws a helmet, a bat or any piece of equipment will be benched immediately and suspended for at least the next game.

7.      We expect mature locker room behavior and a clean locker room.
8.      All players will ride the bus to and from all away games. This is a necessary component in promoting a team atmosphere. It also provides an opportunity for the team to discuss the days performance and better prepare for the next game.
9.      We expect mature bus behavior. When riding to a game you should mentally prepare yourself for that day’s work. On the return trip, you should review your performance and focus on the positive points and areas of possible improvement. ( We will also discuss the game as a team on the ride home).
10.     We expect everyone to help with the equipment.
11.     We will not put up with anyone that puts himself in front of the team. We expect everyone to put the team first, himself second.
12.     We expect every player to be a good teammate!! This means getting along with everyone on the team and supporting them when the TEAM is playing a game. Any form of belittlement of another player on the team is unacceptable and will result in disciplinary action.
13.     We expect all players to come to us first if they have a problem or question. If you have a concern with anything during a practice or a game, please approach us in an appropriate mature manner for a possible explanation. Do not ask someone else who probably does not have an accurate answer for you.
14.     We expect every player to be fully prepared for each day of practice and for all games. If you forget any part of your uniform or equipment, you will not play that day.
*Equal playing time is not guaranteed. You will be given playing time based on your ability, performance and attitude. If you want more playing time, do not whine, earn it by working harder and making yourself be noticed on the field!!!!!
